Bob;
Thanks for the invitation Saturday, sorry that Audrey and I had a previous commitment, don't forget the rain check. Thinking over our phone conversation I have a few thoughts I would like to share with you. First of all you stated that Mr. Winkel (ED) decided to get a NV certification for management. Maybe my letter to the BOD dated 4/17/08 with Conclusions that Sun City needed a professional manager with credentials in city management may have provided a nudge to Mr. Winkel ( www.jobprofiles.org/govccitymgr.htm ), I hope so. Now there is a need for a compliance with the By-Law requiring that Roberts Rules of Order shall prevail at BOD meetings. Just think what this would do for attendance at meetings.
Conclusions: 4/17/08
My remarks and comments are not intended to be inflammatory in any way but to represent the view of residents in attendance of a typical Sun City Board meeting. I firmly support Board Oversight of Professional Management; however our community (city) lacks professional management at this time. I often think of how great this community would be with a professional manager with credentials in city management.
Another thought; the Residents of Sun City moved here to experience "The Good Life" Social & Recreational activities with friends and neighbors, Sun City is not just another ordinary housing project. Sun City provides the amenities but has failed to provide management with a proper focus. It is reasonable to presume that the focus needed may exist with the residents; communications with the residents is the solution. How can this be accomplished?
- COMPILE A RESIDENT CONTACT LIST: neighbor inviting neighbor to broadcast information to email address, newsletter & blog.
- BLOG POST & COMMENTS: example ( http://daksplace.blogspot.com/ ) Share POSITIVE ideas (no negative) with friends & neighbors. Resident's INPUT needed!
- GOALS: To gather POSITIVE ideas needed to improve Sun City Summerlin – "The Good Life" experience. Social, Recreational and Community Spirit.
- THEROY: Flood community leadership with positive lifestyle requirements instead of day to day problems, let management deal with the problems that is what they are paid for.
Bob, I have taken the liberty to share this correspondence with three of my good friends and neighbors for their input and suggestions. I am looking forward to everyone's input. Give me a call if you need any clarification of my thoughts & ideas are needed.
